About the Song

Our Story

In August 1997, I promised to write a song for the Hispanic community of our Catholic Church parish, Church of the Holy Spirit in Schaumburg, IL. They were celebrating the Banquetes de las Rosas (The Banquet of Roses) that November.

On September 25, 1997, the inspiration for the song came as I was praying. I wrote down the lyrics and later that day, composed the melody, and created the sheet music. I went on to sing the song at the banquet and recorded it at a sound studio.

On December 12, 1997, I received the cassette tapes of that song.

On March 1, 1998, my wife and I made a pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.

We had been married for 15 years and did not have any pregnancies. We went to the Shrine to pray for a conception and a baby.

On April 2, we discovered we were pregnant. On December 3, 1998, our beautiful daughter was born. We are so very grateful for this wonderful blessing.

If you are seeking a pregnancy, reconciliation, healing or other Divine blessing, ask Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, to pray to God with you for your intentions.

God is good and will hear your prayer.

May God bless you and your journey.
